Scuba Diving Gear Bag

It would be hard to imagine another sport that offers more beauty and opportunity for discovery than scuba diving, especially when Bahamas diving is involved. The exquisite underwater beauty is always a delight for the beginner as well as the experienced diver.

If diving is in your future, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the equipment first. There is a substantial amount of scuba gear to consider in order to dive safely and get the full benefits of diving. One of the most important one really, is the diving gear bag. With the proper gear bag, you can transport all your gear without the worry of broken or ruined diving gear.

Here are things to consider when selecting a gear bag:

Design - Choose a gear bag specifically designed for scuba gear. It won't do to buy a regular cargo bag. It should be constructed of heavy fabric and stitching that will not rot from frequent exposure to water.
Zippers - Zippers need to be of a large gauge and durable enough to withstand water and frequent use without splitting, corroding or falling apart. You don't want your zippered gear bag to split open in transit at the airport.
Straps - Proper gear bags are designed with straps that will maintain their structural integrity, and that are positioned at the right places on the gear bag.

In addition, a few extra features are helpful too:

Drain holes - very desirable
Backpack style - for convenience
Wheels - for the airport and the docks
Pockets - as many as possible

Save yourself the inevitable trouble and unnecessary expense of poor imitations or cheap economy bags. Select one that you can grow into, one with about 1/3 more space than you currently need. You'll thank yourself one day. Check for warranties. Some are longer than others.

Before you dive into Bahamas diving, or any other locale, become familiar with the sport, the equipment and the area.
